Matthew 4:1-3
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to
be TEMPTED of the DEVIL. And when he had fasted forty days
and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the
TEMPTER came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God,
command that these stones be made bread |
|
Matthew 4:6-7
And
saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself
down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge
concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up,
lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus
said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not TEMPT the
Lord thy God. |
Jesus used
TRUTH to shed light on the temptation as to show it was but a
lie DESPITE the fact that the devil tried to use Scripture to
spruce up his lie as to appear to be the way it was. When the
enemy of our soul heard these words of TRUTH, he immediately
changed the subject and tried yet again to LURE Jesus INTO SIN.
|
Matthew 4:8-11
Again,
the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and
sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of
them; And saith unto Him, All these things will I give thee,
if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto
him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt
worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.
Then the devil leaveth Him, and, behold, Angels came and
ministered unto Him. |
Note that
the devil DID try more than once to lure even Jesus into sin but
Jesus AGAIN used TRUTH and the enemy of our soul KNEW his
efforts were futile.
So what
did he do next?
HE LEFT.
He can’t
STAND hearing TRUTH being said and believed. It makes his ears
burn. So he runs.
We can
(and need to) do the same thing that Jesus did. When we are
overcome with the temptation to go back and allow the abuse to
continue… we need to speak TRUTH to the lies we tell ourselves.
The
enemy may try more tricks but he WILL leave IF he sees that he
cannot deceive us. Even if but for a season we can be refreshed
and be prepared for the devil’s next attack to our soul.
However, when we talk ourselves into accepting the temptations
that we are overcome with as being THE WAY IT IS, we deny the
power of TRUTH to ever be able to overcome it.
So, we
MUST choose to seek the TRUTH to ever be able to overcome the
temptation.
Remember what we were told…
|
1
Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:
but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above
that ye are able; but will with the temptation ALSO MAKE A WAY
TO ESCAPE, that ye may be able to bear it. |
Sooooooo,
we need only SEEK that WAY (TRUTH) that has been placed out
there for us to escape.
It IS
there.
The
ONLY reason we cannot find it is because we are so wrapped up in
the temptation itself.
But, now we know the TRUTH that there IS a WAY to escape the
temptation.
AND
TRUTH WILL SET US FREE!
Sooooo…
back to these lies we tell ourselves…
|
We
enjoy the feeling or secretly we think we like it.
We feel
wanted or loved when it happens?
We already
feel used so what’s the point of fighting it?
We don’t
think it will ever stop, so why try?
We believe
it would hurt our abuser’s feelings by not allowing it anymore?
We’re
doing it just to get it over with.
“I
am now the predator.”
“I lured
him ON PURPOSE.”
“I was old
enough to know better.”
“I
approached him. I went to him. He didn’t come to me.”
“I
fantasize about him.”
“I’m no
good anyway.” |
INSTEAD…replace it with TRUTH.
We ARE
an abused victim that is encaged in a habit that we need to
break.
Temptation will not overcome us.
We ARE
special and precious in God’s eyes and He has a plan of freedom
for our life.
He has
and will forgive us.
HE is
our true Father and loves us unconditionally.
We are
so precious in His sight and deserve so much more than this
continual abuse.
God’s
precious thoughts about us outweigh the number of grains of
sand…
|
Psalm 139:17-18
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great
is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in
number than the sand:
|
It's in
Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.
Long before we first heard of Christ, He had His eye on us, had
designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose
he is working out in everything and everyone.
|
Ephesians 1:11-12
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being
predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh
all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should
be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
|
It's in
Christ that we, once we heard the truth and believed it, we
found our self home free--signed, sealed, and delivered by the
Holy Spirit. This promise from God is the first step to what's
coming, a reminder that we'll get everything God has planned for
us: an awesome, useful, effective, fulfilling life.
Sounds
great, doesn’t it?!
|
Ephesians 1:13-14
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the Word of
Truth, the Gospel of your Salvation: in whom also after that
ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of
Promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the
redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of
His glory. |
We are
made with such uniqueness, that NO ONE else could fulfill the
reason that God created us.
Its
like… He had this plan set for us BEFORE we were even alive.
Ever
thought about that?
Believing we are not a piece of garbage, but have a PURPOSE for
something?
Makes
us wonder what it is. Is there really a plan for us?
Even
after ......
ABSOLUTELY.
God
knows the plans He has for us… plans not to harm us but of
peace, plans to give us hope and a future.
|
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the
LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an
expected end. |
But
why would God spend so much time making this wonderful plan for
US?
Because
He created us. God loves us knowing everything we do and have
done. Even our thoughts are not hidden from Him and He STILL
loves us just as much. We are the only one that can fulfill
the purpose that God made us for.
Our
smile was designed specifically for us.
Our
laugh is unique.
Our
gifts and talents are God-given.
Our
personality is like no one else. Though we may have
similarities with people, there is not one soul with the exact
same personality.
No one
else has the exact same footprint shape in the sand.
We are
a pearl… a treasure… hidden within.
No
one’s shell looks exactly like ours.
No
one’s shell has been in all the same places as ours.
And no
one has the same inner or outer beauty as the pearl that we are.
No one
has the same sparkle and shine as our heart is made to have.
No one
has the same experiences. No one can reach the people we can
the exact same way. Some people can only be reached and helped
by us… because no one can understand them, except us. We have
the experiences to really understand them. To really know how
they feel.
God,
You know our lives and You know US.
We’re an open book to You; even from a distance, you know what
we’re thinking.
You
know when we leave and when we get back; We’re never out of
Your sight.
You
know everything we’re going to say before we start the first
sentence.
We
look behind us and You're there, then up ahead and You're there,
too--
Your reassuring presence is always with us.
|
Psalm 139:1-5
O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my
downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought
afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and
art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in
my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand
upon me.
|
You’re
special. In all the world there’s nobody like you.
Since
the beginning of time there has never been another person like
you.
Nobody
has your smile, nobody has your eyes, your nose, your hair, your
hands, your voice.
You’re
special. No one can be found who has your handwriting.
Nobody
anywhere has your tastes for food, clothing, music, or art.
No one
sees things just as you do.
In all
of time there’s been no one who laughs like you, no one who
cries like you, and what makes you cry or laugh will never
produce identical laughter and tears from anybody else, ever.
You’re
the only one in all of creation who has your set of abilities.
Oh,
there will always be somebody who is better at one of the things
you’re good at, but no one in the universe can reach the quality
of your combination of talents, ideas, abilities and feelings.
Like a room full of musical instruments, some may excel alone,
but none can match the symphony sound when all are played
together. You’re a symphony.
Through
all of eternity, no one will ever look, walk, talk, think or do
like you.
You’re
special…you’re rare.
And in
all rarity there is great value. Because of your great value
you need no attempt to imitate others…you will accept--yes,
celebrate your differences.
You’re
special and you’re beginning to realize it’s no accident that
you’re special.
You’re
beginning to see that God made you special for a purpose.
He must
have a job for you that no one else can do as well as you.
Out of
billions of applicants, only one is qualified, only one has the
right combination of what it takes.
That
one is you, because… you’re special.
--Annoymous
Can’t
we see how precious and special we are? We were made for a
reason!!! And living in abuse is NOT THAT REASON!
God
spent so much time creating us. His love and plans for us far
exceed any worth or reason or excuse to allow the abuse to
continue. We don’t NEED the abuse continue when we start to
ACCEPT the love that God has for us.
Can we
live out His plans of peace and hope for us if we continue to
fall into the temptation of going back or the apathy of it
continuing?
No.
We must
FREE OUR SELF. Free our body and our spirit. Take these chains
off of us. Don’t live another day where we’re encaged by sexual
abuse and molestation. Don’t let it shape our life anymore.
Don’t let it affect our spirit anymore. Don’t let it determine
where our life is headed (which is the opposite direction of
what God’s plans of peace have in store for us).
Break
the habit. Break the chains.
Be
determined to be set free and say NO MORE.
We have
the strength to do it.
THRU HIM !!!
Leave
everything you have said and done before…IN THE PAST.
Do you
WANT to get better? Do you WANT to heal? Do you WANT to be
able to have a NORMAL relationship with someone? Do you want to
have a LIFE instead of just an existence of a numbed child
passing time every day?
We have
nothing but the future now ahead of us and we have a choice of
which direction we want to go. Freedom/Peace/Joy…. Or follow
the devil’s plan… and we know where that leads.
The
answer… chose. Chose to fight these temptations that the devil
is luring you with. You CAN overcome this and be set free.
For
those that KNOW it wrong, simply don’t care, and decide to allow
the abuse to continue anyway.
Its
your choice what happens. Its your choice if you are going to
continue to allow it or not. But because God knows our heart….
And He KNOWS when we know better but still chose to go…
Picture
with me for a second…
We have
driven for a little while on a long windy road. The road has
come to a dead end. We have to choice to go right or left. We
can’t go both. We can drive straight ahead so we don’t have to
“chose”, but we would just smash into that huge tree in front of
us. It’s not possible.
Right
or left.
We have
the choice. We can chose the path that heads to healing. The
state of freedom. God’s plan for our life.
Or we
can chose to go in the opposite direction and allow it to
continue.
But
now… The devil is now using YOU as a lure to keep another soul
from God. You have become the temptation. You are actually
keeping another person (our abuser) living in sin. We are
keeping another person from knowing God. (Remember you can’t be
living in continual sin and be on the path God has planned for
us at the same time.)
You can
actually help save someone… give someone a chance to be forgiven
by God and the opportunity to go to Heaven… if they are not
given the chance (by you) to live in continual sin.
You
have the power to say no more and that you will not be used by
the devil any longer.
Why
would you chose to live a life that you feel encaged every
single day? Why would you chose to do something that you know
makes you want to scream out in shame and hurt afterward? Why
would you allow something so wrong to happen (and you KNOW it
being wrong) continue to bleed and stain every part of your
life, and instead of trying to clean it (when you have the
things to remove the stain) you cry yourself to sleep wishing it
would disappear on its own?
Its not
going to disappear on its own.
As a
warning… approximately one out of every 3 abuse victims becomes
a predator against children. Decide to choose to walk away from
the abuse before it’s too late and you become a predator
yourself.
Knowing
what is wrong and purposely continuing has you living in sin.
Sin
separates you from God and His PROMISE of eternal life (life in
Heaven rather than hell)… until you chose to repent and turn to
Jesus. You can’t have both ways.

2
Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not
willing that any should perish, but that all should come to
repentance. |
|
Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and
death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all
have sinned. |
|
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. |
|
Galatians 3:22
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the
promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that
believe. |
A
few warnings against God to those who STILL CONTINUE to sin and
you KNOW that it’s wrong:
If we
learn the truth and continue to ignore it and go off sinning
anyway, no sacrifice can cover our sins. There will be nothing
to look forward to but the terrible expectation of God’s
judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies.
|
Hebrews 10:26-27
For if we sin WILFULLY after that we have received the knowledge
of the TRUTH, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a
certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation,
which shall devour the adversaries |
If you
have already escaped the filth and sin of the world by knowing
the Lord and Jesus Christ, and chose to return BACK to the sin,
you are worse off now than ever before. It is better if you had
not started on the path toward God and then reject it because
now you are rejecting a holy commandment because you knew right
from wrong and still chose against God. What you decided to do
is written in the proverbs: A dog returns to his own vomit, and
a washed pig returns to the mud.
|
2 Peter 2:20-22
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world
through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they
are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is
worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for
them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after
they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered
unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true
proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow
that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. |
EWWWWWW !!!
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
NO MORE !!!
