It is not my intent to glorify physical abuse, but to
help others understand that what we choose for ourselves, we choose for
our children and those in our family. Our lives are directed by the Lord
when we let Him direct our footsteps…one at a time and we obey His
counsel, we are protected.
When we choose our mate, whether we already have
children, or desire to have children in the future, each choice no
matter how small or large has an impact on our lives. As in a pond, when
even a tiny pebble is tossed into the calm waters, they send out ripples
changing the water’s mirror-like surface. These choices, albeit going
for a drive in a rainstorm with possible accident repercussions, or
marring the wrong person who is a closet alcoholic or abusive to those
under his care are choices which can cause either great harm or great
joy for us in our future.
This is a story of Janet, a woman who innocently goes to
sleep one night with her godly husband at her side and wakes up in the
middle of another woman’s life. They are both named Janet; one, the
dreamer and the other, an abused wife of an evil man named Earl. When
Janet awakens, she finds herself in a living nightmare of abuse by Earl,
and the fear for two little girls that are depending on her for
protection from their father. Janet bounces back and forth from her real
life to this other abused Janet’s life and is unable to stop it. The
situation is getting more and more dangerous and she is becoming fearful
to fall asleep. Even with her family praying for her, it continues to
happen without her knowing why.
Soon, an angel, named Justice, comes to her while she is
in this living nightmare to tell her that the reason she is there is she
because she is needed by God to help make right what has gone wrong,
Justice then disappears with no further explanation, leaving Janet to
wonder what He meant by that cryptic statement. She is in danger; the
other Janet is in danger and her two young daughters are in danger. The
abuse is getting worse and she is beginning to experience the physical
abuse in her own body. Will she survive this experience, and will she be
able to protect these two innocent little girls from their abusive
father? Why does she feel like God has abandoned her in her nightmares?
As Earl is driven further into evil, other innocent people fall victim
to his wickedness.
There are times when we wonder “God, where are you in
all this evil?” He knows what you are going through and I would
encourage you to wait on Him….he knows what you need before you even
ask.
We all know there is a spiritual realm and battles go on
around us without our seeing them. This spiritual realm is as real as
the physical realm we live in. What if you could see into this spiritual
world and see those battles as they occur? Come with me and experience a
touch of reality. You can read about the demons that cling to those who
live outside God’s protection. Learn about how God helps those who look
to Him for protection and what can happen to us when we step out from
under the shadow of His wings, Psalms 91.
