into everlasting habitations. |
Jesus is saying
that we should befriend those who may not deemed as being
socially acceptable by the majority.
But why?

Matthew 11:19
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say,
Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of
publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her
children. |
Wisdom is
justified of her children?
The Religious
leaders of that time looked upon things from a carnal point
of view.
Their own !!!
Jesus was sharing that there is a
different Spiritual viewpoint and Wisdom is of the Spirit,
which they lacked and the chosen children of God that could
HEAR possessed … These souls understood and justified the
Wisdom within God’s choice to reach for the lost.
So, was Jesus a
friend of sinners?

FRIEND OF GOD BIBLE VERSE TRUTH WITH

Jesus made it
clear that we are to befriend these souls who are looked
down upon by others and not just those we deem as being
socially acceptable by others in our lives.

Luke 14:12-24
Then said He also to him that bade him, When thou
makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends,
nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich
neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a
recompence be made thee. But when thou makest a
feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the
blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot
recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at
the resurrection of the just.
Then said He unto him, A certain man made a great
supper, and bade many: And sent his servant at
supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come;
for all things are now ready. And they all with one
consent began to make excuse. The first said unto
him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must
needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen,
and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
And another said, I have married a wife, and
therefore I cannot come
So
that servant came, and shewed his lord these things.
Then the master of the house being angry said to his
servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes
of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the
maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant
said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and
yet there is room. And the lord said unto the
servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and
compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
For I say unto you, That none of those men which
were bidden shall taste of my supper.

These same souls
who the world finds unworthy and TOO sinful are the ones
that Jesus has chosen to come to HIS Marriage Supper, so it
is wise to befriend em now cuz they are gonna be there with
Jesus’ arm around em.
Pssssssssssssssssssssssst … ALL Christians and those called
to be Christian are one of these souls.
Let’s read on a
bit more:

Luke
14:25-27
And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and
said unto them, If any man come to me, and hate not his
father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren,
and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my
disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come
after me, cannot be my disciple. |
Did we read that
correctly?
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother,
and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and
his own life also, he cannot be my disciple
Is Jesus saying
that we are to hate our family members?
He is saying we
are to serve Him and to allow NOTHING or NOBODY to come
between He and us. This includes family and friends who may
have worldly views within their mind and heart.
This brings to
mind and heart these Words:

James
4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that
the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever
therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. |
Let’s look back
at what Jesus was sharing in the book of Luke
|
Luke
14:28-30
For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not
down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have
sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the
foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it
begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was
not able to finish. |
One should
prepare and step forth in 100% Faith and devotion to his or
her cause. You are not quite living, until you find
something worth trading it all up for and even dying for. No
looking back.
Jesus is worthy.
Jesus continues:

Luke 14:33-35
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh
not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Salt
is good: but if the salt have lost his savour,
wherewith shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit
for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast
it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. |
So
,we are to have a fiery passion in serving God and do so
with UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for all others and NO partiality as
to the social status of HIS children.

James
3:17
But the wisdom
that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality, and without hypocrisy. |
We
are to befriend ALL of God’s children … Just as Jesus did
for us when we were so very lost.
He BEFRIENDED US when we
were at our lowest point. He even laid down His life for us
as a friend:

John 15:13-14
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man
lay down his life for His friends. Ye are my
friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. |
So, is Jesus a
friend of sinners?
The answer is
YES ...
Just as He
befriended YOU
AND ……. We show
ourselves as HIS Friend by obeying and following Him because
we BELIEVE.
It is our FAITH that shows our friendship TO
Him:

James 2:23
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith,
Abraham BELIEVED God, and it was imputed unto him
for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of
God.
|
Just after the
Lord’s Prayer in the Book of Luke, Jesus shares an
interesting analogy I wanna share:

Luke 11:5-8
And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a
friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say
unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend
of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have
nothing to set before him? And he from within shall
answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now
shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot
rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will
not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet
because of his importunity he will rise and give him
as many as he needeth.

After this
analogy …
Then Jesus said …

Luke 11:9-13
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you;
seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth;
and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that
knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask
bread of any of you that is a father, will he give
him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish
give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will
he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil,
know how to give good gifts unto your children: how
much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy
Spirit to them that ask him?

Jesus
is saying that the relationship that we have between us and
our Heavenly Father is better than that of a friend and
better than that of a family member. That HE is always there
for us. 24/7 …….
Are YOU a friend
TO God?
FRIEND OF GOD BIBLE PROMISE AND
FRIEND OF GOD BIBLE HOPE
Is it a one or two way friendship you have with
Jesus? Are you willing to do anything For HIM as He would
and DID for you? Are you always there for Him as He is you?
Or do you allow the world to come between you and your
Friend?
It is obvious that overcoming the world is the hardest part
of our relationship with our Lord. Kinda like when the moon
asked the sun "why is it that I oft times sit in darkness"
... The sun responded, "it is cuz you let the world came
between us" ...
The SON is saying the same thing.
Escape the
darkness in your lives, by becoming a better friend to and
for HIM. He is waiting to enhance the Friendship. He has
done His part by showing His Unconditional Love for you by
suffering beyond our imagination and then dying a most
horrible death … For YOU.
It is YOUR turn
to show your Unconditional Love for Him by serving Him in
FAITH and allowing NOTHING or NOBODY to come between you and
He as to establish the best Friendship Foundation you can,
with He who Loves you so very much……..
TRUE Friendship …
Is a Two way street. It is not 50/50 … It is 100/100
